Memory Quilts

For those other articles of clothing that hold special meaning, whether it be from those of a loved one or ones of other special value, turning these articles into a traditional quilt of their own can create special memories for many years to come

These quilts are made from articles of clothing that are not your standard “t-shirt” material and are cut into smaller pieces to make a more traditional quilt pattern.

Embroidery

I also offer embroidery services. I can embroider on items that you provide or I have several different clothing options in both children’s and adult sizing that I can order from. Pricing is dependent on the design as well as the item being embroidered. A list of current designs that I have can be found HERE. If there is something specific you are wanting as a design, please reach out and we can find what you are looking for!

Long Arm Quilting

Are you a quilter needing those perfect finishing touches on a quilt of your own? Or maybe you have found a quilt top from years gone by that needs those finishing touches added. Look no further!

Hand guided edge to edge long arm quilting services are charged at a rate of $.025 per square inch, however there is a minimum charge of $50. So if the total square inches of your quilt is UNDER 2000 square inches, the total would be $50.

Custom edge to edge quilting ranges from $0.03 to $0.04 per square inch, depending on the specific designs for each custom quilt.

If additional prep work is needed on your quilt (such as trimming threads on the back of the quilt, pressing the seams on the finished quilt top, or squaring the quilt backing), the rate is $25 an hour. Quilt tops will not be pressed or trimmed unless this service is specifically requested.

Please make sure your backing is 8” longer and 8” wider than your quilt top. If you are providing your own batting, please make sure that it is also 8” longer and 8” wider than the quilt top as well. If you would like me to purchase the batting of the quilt, that can also be done for an additional price. That price will be specific to the size of the quilt, and the specific batting type picked.

If you would like me to piece together the backing for your quilt, that can be done at a rate of $10 per seam. if you choose to piece the backing of the quilt together yourself, please make sure the backing is 10” longer in length and 10” longer in width than your quilt top.

Once your quilt is completely quilted, I also offer binding services! That way, as soon as your receive your quilt back it is 100% ready for all the quilt cuddles! Binding will be hand sewn at a rate of $0.40 per linear inch. If your binding is already cut and sewn in strips, the rate is $0.35 per linear inch. If you would just like the binding sewn to the front of the quilt for you to finish, that rate is $0.20 per linear inch. To find the linear inches, add the width and length of the quilt together and multiply by two. Please provide your own fabric binding. If unsure of how much fabric is needed for binding, please reach out to me!

Creating modern heirlooms to be loved for generations to come

Why do I quilt?

there is something about making a quilt from start to finish that is hard to explain to someone who has never done it before.

the excitement of picking out a pattern and then finding that perfect fabric to compliment it,,, the quietness and concentration of cutting out each individual square for the quilt,,, the relaxation and repetitive motion of piecing every single block together until you finally see the accomplishment of a finished quilt top,,, the joy of putting that whole quilt together and quilting it down yourself,,, the simple process of hand stitching that quilt,,, and that final exciting moment of pulling that quilt out of the dryer and admiring the quilt wrinkles on a newly finished quilt…

there are few better simple joys in life than taking in the quiet moments in life comforted by a quilt made with love by your own two hands.

i hope that I am able to create just a small piece of that feeling for you whether its from a custom quilt or putting those final finishing touches on a quilt of your own
